A note of introduction At any time of day, young and old people, women and men of all age, though living in different places on this planet, can meet to pray and to promote together the spirituality of communion (cf. Novo Millennio Ineunte, paragraph 42). Can the search for God, already taken up, or, till now, left unsaid in the depths of your heart, reserve even for you the disclosure of an unforeseen lease of life? Is it feasible to pray and strive to bring the good news of the Gospel every day in our environment? Even if you work in politics, in the world of management and finance or if you are just a housewife or a teacher? Even bursting with health or with great lack of self-sufficiency?Lots of people feel the need to pray within a community, but are practically unable to do it because of the prevailing culture, which confines in the individual privacy the answer to a deepest need, of which we read in the Gospel according to Saint Matthew 18:19: “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven”. Should believers don’t have the chance to live near a monastery or a convent, usually they are “forced” to pray singly to comply with modern life’s pace and convention. Even when sparing some free time is affordable and they want to tune to the frequency of communitarian prayer with someone sharing the same longing. Personal prayer is splendid (and necessary), to be sure, and Jesus talks about it with delight. However, also with great delight, Jesus says that “…where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Mt 18:20) This website gives a little, but incredibly efficacious, lead in solving the problem of distance and timing in communitarian prayer: a DSL network, the book of Hours (also available on the Web), the right (and free of charge) software, and there you are: within click’s (and headphones with built-in microphone’s) reach, you will have the chance of praying, of doing the lectio divina – the prayerful reading of the Bible –, and of sharing impressions, experiences, real and online evangelization initiatives. Our experience saw the light in January 2006, backed by a Roman Catholic priest, who, standing godfather for it, wrote us: “… indeed, the internet space can be a virtual Cathedral for believers to meet and praise God. May your impressive intuition be blessed by God, welcomed by the Virgin Mary and may it yield fruits of love and consolation”. Be it so!
